Our Concrete Taxi trucks mix small batches of concrete on-site as per our customers’ requirements. This process has numerous advantages over traditional ready-mix concrete and DIY mixing.
Advantages of Concrete Taxi
We make the exact quantity as required – no unwanted wastage!
Large suppliers are not interested in smaller jobs – hence our niche market!
We can mix on-site at a speed that is suitable for the customer to work with
We are more cost-effective than bagged concrete which costs around $1000 per m3
Our trucks can often go where Ready Mix can’t
Disadvantages of Ready Mix
Ready Mix concrete must be delivered within a short time frame
Ready Mix suppliers charge additional fees for top up deliveries or returned product
Hard to gauge exact quantity – a lot of wastage that customers pay for!
The business can be operated from home if there is parking for the truck (subject to council regulations). Trucks refill at landscaping yards with whom we have pre-arranged pricing. There is no stock to carry and no receivables.
Concreting or transport background is not necessary. We can train you. Customer service, communication and time planning skills are essential.
Candidates must satisfactorily pass a psychometric test. The cost of this is $200. You must have a MR licence to drive your trucks.
There is no set territory. Jobs are allocated upon availability.
Earnings vary from state to state and depend heavily on a franchisees willingness to take on jobs. We will provide a breakdown of costs and revenue on a confidential basis to successful applicants.
This is all done by Concrete Taxi. However, you are the best ambassador in your area, helping to generate repeat customers.
Customers place orders via a website or a 1300 number. Our call center does all the marketing, selling and pricing. The job is then sent to the driver.
We charge surcharges for afterhours work and for work in certain distant locations. The surcharge is paid to the driver in full (the usual franchise fee is payable on the surcharge).
Yes, there is. Each job is allocated with a set and realistic quota of time. Going beyond this time will incur an additional cost for delays
The driver delivers the concrete and collects payment from the customer via EFTPOS or cash on completion of the job. No working capital is needed.
You will need to pay a flat 6% franchise fee + 6% advertising levy based on the gross turnover. The fees are payable after the end of the month.
There are 2 alternatives –
Buy an existing franchise
Existing franchises available for sale are listed on our website. Please contact the relevant seller or broker directly.
Buy a new franchise
New franchisees need to buy a truck for $200,000 + GST, pay a once off fee of $50,000 + GST and a marketing contribution of $2,500 + GST. The duration of the franchise agreement is 5 years + 5 year option.
Our patented hoppers (mixing apparatus) are designed to fit the Hino FC 1124 chassis. Cost of manufacturing the hopper to fit any other chassis would likely exceed the benefit.
The economics of the business is built around the owner operator, however in some busy locations you could benefit from hiring a driver and operating the truck on a 24/7 basis.
We will provide a 2-week training program which comprehensively covers all aspects of the franchise.
Yes, you can sell your franchise (truck and balance of agreement) at any time. New franchisees need to be approved by Concrete Taxi and undergo all necessary training. You cannot however sell the truck separately from your franchise.
Bank and Financial Institution finance could be available for the purchase of the franchise and / or operating equipment to approved applicants.
